Plaza de Armas is the more ancient of the city, first known public square of Havana, is a nice plaza located in the east part of the old Havana , close to the harbor.
The square itself is nice and green and it is full of book stalls selling old and new books.
Around the plaza are some of the nicest Old Havana colonial buildings. This is the part of the city where the renovation has done a very good job.
The current aspect of the plaza, is almost exactly, that the same one, that had since the remodeling, surrounded by the same noble buildings: Government's House and General Captains palace, (today City Museum); the Segundo Cabo palace, that harbors Ministry of Culture dependences; the Conde de Santovenia, where settled one of the first hotels of the city and the strength La Fuerza, transformed today in to Museo de Armas.
